• Gamescom and the German games industry support non-profit organization with donation
  • Gaming Aid e.V. helps players in the German gaming scene who are in need

Berlin, December 11, 2018 Gamescom, the world’s largest event for computer and video games, Koelnmesse and game – Association of the German Games Industry are donating the raffle proceeds from this year’s gamescom industry party to Gaming Aid e.V. The Berlin-based charitable organisation provides financial and material support to people in need in the German games industry and is committed to social engagement in the German games scene. To support the association in its projects, the gamescom organizers are now donating over 3,700 euros to the association. The amount was raised during the official gamescom industry party on August 22nd with a raffle ticket sale. The prizes drawn there were donated by numerous companies from the German games industry.

“This wonderful project shows once again that the games industry in Germany is one big family that stands up for each other,” says game Managing Director Felix Falk. “Whether through monetary or material donations: You can rely on the willingness to help. This is also shown by the more than 3,700 euros that we were able to raise during the gamescom industry party and are now very happy to donate to Gaming Aid for this important work.”

“The gamescom team at Koelnmesse is delighted that we were once again able to support the work of Gaming Aid as part of the industry party and thus do something good together in a fun way. It’s a great campaign that was also very well received this year. We would therefore like to thank everyone who supported the Gaming Aid project by taking part in campaigns or the lottery,” says Tim Endres, Director gamescom, Koelnmesse.

“It is overwhelming to see the great response we receive from the games industry for our work. Thanks to this donation, we can once again put a smile on the faces of many people who are not doing so well. On behalf of our projects, we say thank you!” says Svenja Bhatty, Chairwoman of Gaming Aid.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all visitors to the gamescom industry party who supported this year’s raffle so actively by buying raffle tickets. We would also like to thank the companies that have donated goods: Amazon, Bethesda Softworks, Deadalic Entertainment, King Art Games, Medion, Omen by HP, Speedlink and Toneworx Studios.
