Gaming Aid Scholarship
Gaming Aid is committed to free access to education and equal educational opportunities, regardless of background or income. Through our Gaming Aid Scholarship (GASt), we provide an opportunity for young, talented individuals passionate about games, who find the financial hurdles of pursuing an academic education nearly insurmountable, to break into the games industry.
What we promote
Gaming Aid promotes young talents in the study programmes (Bachelor/Master) Game Design, Game Graphics, Interactive Narrative Design, Sound Design and Game Engineering at selected universities. Depending on the degree of need, scholarship holders receive up to 800 euros per month. They are also supported during their studies by an experienced developer studio, which also provides the internships required for the practical part of the programme.

The application process
The prerequisites for a GASt grant are a higher education entrance qualification from a member state of the European Union and the determination of need within the meaning of the Federal Training Assistance Act (BaFöG).
Interested students (including those already studying) can contact us from 15 January to 30 March with an informal application to stipendium(at)gaming-aid.de for the winter semester 2024/25. The following information must be included:
- Full name as per birth certificate
- Full address and residence status
- Name of the school at which the school leaving qualification is being or has been obtained
- Letter of motivation
- Evidence of extracurricular activities
The expert jury invites the candidates it considers worthy to interview. In the selection interview, you will then face the overall jury, which will then decide whether a scholarship will be awarded. The funding decision is based on the need and talent of the applicant. That's why a letter of motivation is particularly important to us. We want to be able to recognise what motivations you have as an applicant and what goals you are pursuing with regard to the games industry.
