About Gaming Aid – This is us

Gaming Aid sees itself as a platform for the social commitment of the games industry in Germany. Our aim is to strengthen social cohesion by providing concrete help. We also want to raise awareness of those who are dependent on the support of others.

How it all started

Gaming Aid was originally founded in 2013 by seven protagonists from the games industry. Their aim was to create a platform for various charitable initiatives through which the many players in the games industry could make a difference in an effective and unbureaucratic way. The Friendly Fire charity livestream, which raised a total of 123,000 euros in 2015, has enabled Gaming Aid to attract greater attention. Since 2016, the association has been pooling the commitment of the many supporters from the industry in the context of various charitable projects.

The people behind

This is our current Management Board. The members elect it at regular intervals at a general meeting. The last one took place at the end of November 2023.

Our partners

Many players in the games industry – including some of the industry’s biggest names – have already come together to work with Gaming Aid on social issues. The commitment ranges from simple membership to active support through public relations work or advertising for our projects, participation in fundraising to the financing of scholarships. The opportunities for participation are very diverse in terms of type and scope.
